I've been dating a guy for a year and now he wants a break but doesn't make since with our history?

We never fought! Tells me I'm low maint., never make him stressed, lucky 2 have me, best friend, wants to make sure we're both thinking marriage, likes me with his 3 kids. He changed jobs a month ago, stressed! He was xcited he would see me more but haven't because busy learning new things. 2 wks ago he called 2 say he was drinking with friends, little drunk & would call me later & let me know what was going on. Never heard from hm so called & left VM I was worried since he was drunk & no call. He was freaked I called. Said he didn't say he would call. Saw him the next day & he said we need 2 rethink us because I talk about kids, stresses him, & he now knows he doesn't want more kids after hearing me the last month, said he feels pressure to be with me every wkend when he doesn't have kids, wants to see less like in begin. Few days be4 this called 2 hear my voice bcause he missed me. Shocked! Called him once and he avoided me, sent him e-mail, no response. I'm floored!
