Is the geeta the real geeta(which is the advice given by krishna to arjuna before the mahabharat war)?

my question is.... Whether it is logical to believe that a practical person like krishna would advice Arjun on matters of life, death,heaven, hell and thinngs to such religious nature ???? I personally feel it would be more like Krishna to discuss matters related to war, strategies,plans, technique etc related to war at that time and place? The Geeta we read today either does not talk about it at all or we have not understood the real geeta ........!!!!!!!....What do you say ???
